Richard was raised on a farm in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and spent a number of years in the 1990s working in Australia and backpacking and teaching English around Asia. After a degree and masters degree in Development Studies from Exeter University and London School of Economics respectively, Richard worked as a technical writer at The Global Fund to Fight HIV/Aids, TB & Malaria in Geneva, and later at the United Nations.
Some years later, Richard moved into the food business, creating Switzerland’s Holy Cow! Gourmet Burger Company. More recently, Richard has enjoyed creative writing in his spare time, and his two first novels have been published by Graffeg, UK. His most recent publication (a novella) – Last Resort, was commissioned for the Welsh Books Council Quick Reads Series 2023.
Richard' latest work: The Road – A Guide to Crossing the Nepal Himalayas by Bike is set for publication in spring 2024.
