RICHARD'S BIO

Richard was raised on a farm in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and spent a number of years in the 1990s working in Australia and teaching English around Asia. After a degree and masters degree in Development Studies from Exeter University and London School of Economics respectively, Richard worked as a technical writer at The Global Fund to Fight HIV/Aids, TB & Malaria in Geneva, and later at the United Nations.

Some years later, Richard moved into the food business, creating Switzerland’s Holy Cow! Gourmet Burger Company.

More recently, Richard has enjoyed creative writing in his spare time, and his two first novels were published by Graffeg, UK. A more recent publication (a novella) – Last Resort, was commissioned for the Welsh Books Council Quick Reads Series 2023.

In 2024 Richard published his first guidebook, The Road – A Guide to Crossing the Nepal Himalayas by Bike.

In 2026, Mostyn Thomas and the Big Rave will be adapted to a novella as part of  Books Council Wales Emerging Readers Initiative.
